RE: (RL) Clapton, Mick and all the blokes
I always thought of Hendrix as more of a jazz player. Jazz-rock. When ever
he hits the 12-bar Call It Stormy Monday hook, I call it fast-forward.
When I think of blues rock, I think of Miller Beer commercials from the
1980's. I'll be honest, there were times I wanted to kill Keith and Co. for
giving us the Black Crowes, but at the end of the day my favorite opening
credit sequence in a movie will always be Hal Ashby's 'Coming Home' ("Baby,
you're out of time" Wasn't he ever! {Bruce Dern's character, that is})
I mean I like the blues but ... man, I could TELL you about the blues but
(da na na na) ...oh you know what I mean ...

Not always, no. Usually, perhaps. (Peter Green doesn't play blues-rock,
just the blues.) Does Hendrix suck? Do the Stones suck (well, for a long
time, I guess they probably have). Tel you what does really suck,
though: twiddly-diddly jazz-rock nonsense. Oh, and Steely Dan.
There's a bit in the guitar solo of 'Peg' I'm trying to get. It's very
twiddly diddily - but in a good way.
I might look for tabs but it's more fun to try it by ear. On the turntable.
Although, if anyone is familiar with this particular 6-string hat trick and
has a suggestion ..
Okay ... back to Llloyd!
